The perfectly horizontal tilt of the luminaire head is also easy to achieve by using an Allen key to make fine adjustments.
“Design for disassembly” – dismantling desired. Easy to assemble – simple to disassemble: ARTELEA takes both work steps into account from the start. This not only enables particularly flexible use of the free-standing luminaire, but it also makes critical components, such as optics and LEDs, particularly easy to access and replace at any time.
ARTELEA is the first Zumtobel free-standing luminaire to have been designed for sustainable, modular use right from its conception, with materials that are up to and over 80 per cent recyclable.
Good thermal management of the electronic components promises a life time of 100 000 hours. And thanks to planned remanufacturing, the luminaire can be given a new life.
While the LED drivers are future ready for long-lasting use, there is still much that can be done in the next 40 years in terms of lighting management and control electronics. ARTELEA is open to new developments with its easily replaceable control pod and swarm intelligence that can be retrofitted at any time. Basic luminaire heads can be converted to premium heads or even a new generation of luminaire heads within the same fixture.
Office architecture is constantly changing, however the need for standard-compliant illumination of workplaces remains the same. Thanks to their flexibility, free-standing luminaires are a future-proof type of workplace lighting, regardless of new ways of working and office layouts. There is no easier way to change lighting in the office.
No light heads suspended downwards thanks to simple readjustment using a tool that’s integrated into the luminaire head. The reflector grids for the uplight are protected with a plastic panel and can therefore be cleaned easily in order to ensure the luminaire’s efficiency over its life time. The cable, which is subject to high levels of stress on the ground, can easily be replaced with an IEC power plug while in position.
Free-standing luminaires are perfect for rental models or even a 2nd market. Despite ARTELEA’s slimline design, all electronics are integrated in the head. Single-head luminaires can later be converted to twin-head luminaires. This means that valuable components remain in use for a long time and can be adapted to new contexts.
The mechanical design of the luminaire enables the entire lighting electronics to be quickly replaced either by Zumtobel or a local refurbishment service. The lighting technology components can also easily be upgraded if required.
At the end of its life time, the luminaire can simply be separated into groups of materials such as aluminium, steel, plastic and electronics.
The transition from a linear economy to a circular economy is calling for companies to fundamentally rethink their processes. New growth opportunities are developing from the focus on circular product cycles.

ARTELEA is equipped with an interface for Zumtobel’s new swarm technology as standard. From the presence-detecting luminaire as a central point of light to gently dimmed luminaires in the surrounding area – swarm creates a cloud of light around the users. Looking out into the darkness from a cone of light is a thing of the past.
