The Spectral Power Distribution of the Zumtobel SPECTRUM is designed to follow the daylight spectrum in that specific wavelength range where the eye is more sensitive towards visual, emotional and biological stimuli.
Zumtobel SPECTRUM, with its unique technology, creates a light source for the eye that causes less stress to the pupil allowing the eye to be more relaxed resulting in less fatigue and improving visual acuity as well as supporting our biological rhythm with no comprise to ambiance.
Nature changes the sky light spectrum for our eyes by its surfaces, we changed LED light sources to provide natural light even without strongly (blue) absorbing, artificial surfaces.
Relaxed Eyes
Zumtobel SPECTRUM contains lower intensities of blue wavelengths and higher
of the azure ones. A comfortable indoor environment supported by a harmonized
spectrum which reduces retinal stress. Less fatigued eyes for concentration and
return to relaxation beyond.
Clear Visibility
Zumtobel SPECTRUM increases visual acuity and enhances brightness perception.
Due to a constant small pupil size, visual acuity is supported, there is an appearance
of lower glare, an easier visibility of contrasts and space.
Melanopic Efficiency
Zumtobel SPECTRUM is suited to assist with synchronization with the circadian
clock, and has optimized biological effects. With the same appearance as standard
LEDs, the level of melanopic activation is higher and supports a natural appearance
of objects. It is effective for people of all ages.
Adaption of the LED light spectrum
Zumtobel Spectrum harmonizes the light spectrum to get as close as possible to daylight seen from the human eye. In doing so, the intensities of the blue wavelengths are significantly reduced, while the azure wavelengths are simultaneously increased. The eye does not perceive the difference to regular LED lighting, but it is less strained.
At the same illuminance, the pupil diameter with standard LED light spectrum tends to be larger than in natural daylight. Zumtobel Spectrum reduces the diameter and helps the pupil to stay in its natural size. This reduces the amount of light entering the eye, and the strain on the retina is reduced.
The result: the eyes remain relaxed and do not tire so quickly. This not only has a positive effect on concentration but also enables the eye to relax more quickly and easily after strenuous visual tasks.
